'Depressed' transgender woman 'died of drugs binge' 2 days before being ...

Speaking outside of court, Synestra's mother Amanda, an independent finance broker, said the NHS was partly to blame for her daughter's death. "I think part of her depression and Synestra's struggle was the effect of trying to get the GPs to take her seriously and to refer her," she said. "There is definitely discrimination in the NHS against transgenderism. "I know there is work being done by politicians to change this, and transgenderism is being looked at as an issue. "Her drug dependence started in two ways. I think firstly it was because she was depressed and found solace there. "The drugs calmed her anxiety and she became much more dependent than we realised. "She and Jonathan were just great together and were planning a future, so we all know that she was not in any way considering suicide. "And having been clean from the drugs for a while and having come off of them successfully, probably her tolerance levels were weakened, a

Poland wants NATO nukes to counter Russia threat

The Polish Defense Minister says he is thinking of asking NATO to allow nuclear weapons to be deployed on its territory. The alliance’s program allows non-nuclear countries to borrow US missiles. However, such a move would unlikely be taken kindly by Russia. Defense Minister Tomasz Szatkowski made the statement on Saturday during an interview with the Polish broadcaster Polsat, as cited by AP.  He says that the ministry is contemplating whether to ask for access to the nuclear sharing program, which would allow Warsaw to boost its defenses. This is the first time that a Polish official has made a statement of intent about wanting to host nuclear weapons on its soil.  However, the Polish Defense Ministry has issued a statement that Warsaw has not asked and is not looking to house NATO nuclear weapons on its territory, according to RIA.  However, if the plan does go ahead, it is likely to produce a fierce rebuke from Moscow. Russian President Vladimir Putin said in June that if NATO thre

A private jet had to make an emergency landing in Palm Springs, California - with no wheels. The landing gear had failed to deploy, meaning the plane had to try and land on its belly. As the jet approached the Palm Springs International Airport, it became clear that it would be forced to make an unusual landing. However, the pilot was more than up to the task and brought the plane safely down, despite its undercarriage not working. There was a danger that the aircraft got be set alight due to the sparks caused by the plane landing on its belly, but fire crews were quickly on the scene to spray foam onto the jet and no injuries were reported.  Belly landings are not unheard of, but require great skill from those flying the plane to bring it down safely. One of the most common causes of having to carry out the manuever is the pilot simply forgetting to deploy the landing gear.
