Gareth Bale's agent rubbishes reports Real Madrid star wants to DITCH him

Gareth Bale's agent, Jonathan Barnett, has dismissed reports that the Real Madrid star is set to ditch him.

Spanish radio last night claimed Bale, 26, has tasked his lawyers with helping him ditch his representative after the latest controversy sparked by Barnett's comments in a newspaper interview.

The Welshman has reportedly grown tired of Barnett’s outbursts, with the latest sparking a row in the Madrid media between Bale and Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.

Barnett, however, has dismissed the claims from Radio Marca as “total rubbish.”

The row began last week when Barnett, in an attempt to clarify that there was no bad blood between Bale and Ronaldo, was interpreted as having taken shots at the Portuguese star.This led to an angry editorial in one of Spain’s biggest sports newspapers, entitled “Why don’t you shut up, Mr Barnett?” in which he was the subject of stinging criticism that reflected also on his biggest client.

What followed were reports of Rafa Benitez asking Bale to apologise to his illustrious colleague and then, last night, the allegation that “the player has already put the matter in the hands of his lawyers to cease the contractual relationship with his agent.”

Radio Marca further reports that, despite Barnett labelling Ronaldo “an underwear seller” the 30-year-old is not annoyed with Bale and realises that his teammate is not responsible for the outbursts of his representative.
