Raheem Sterling's agent Aidy Ward blasts "sly" and "underhanded"

Raheem Sterling 's agent says Liverpool were "sly" and "underhanded" in the way they dealt with the England youngster - and insists he should still be playing for the Reds.

Sterling's reluctance to extend his contract with the Reds was a hot topic throughout the entirety of last campaign and he eventually signed for Manchester City for £50m in the summer.

He has scored six goals for club and country this term, including a hat-trick against Bournemouth at the weekend, and, in the absence of David Silva and Sergio Aguero, is in line to play a key role for City against Sevilla on Wednesday night.

Sterling has defied the critics who predicted he would be restricted to a bit-part role at City, playing in all but one of his side's games in all competitions.

And, while the 20-year-old has been doing his talking on the pitch, agent Ward has been doing some speaking of his own - about his client's contract debacle at Anfield.Rodgers has since been replaced at Liverpool by Jurgen Klopp and Ward reckons the German would've been the perfect man to nurture Sterling's talent.
